Of Letters and Fairies

This year I was asked by a publishing house to illustrate the alphabet. The project thrilled me so much! However, because of some financial misunderstandings, our collaboration ended. But the idea of illustrating the alphabet stayed with me. So I decided to do my own, personal version of it. The letters are fascinating to me, so beautiful and perfect because you can express so much through them! I decided I wanted to do a fairy for every letter, that would interact with that letter in it's own, personal way. For the fairies, I have let myself be inspired by the various textures, colours and structures that are found in nature (nature- my biggest inspiration source). So I started paying attention to the beautiful leaves, flowers, insects and animals that crossed my path every time I was in the country side. The variety of forms and shapes is just breath-taking, every time it surprises me! Anyway, this is what I have worked on until now. I am very pleased with the result, hope you like it too!
